Best Tips to Prevent Tubes from Leaking: - Use a small, airtight container (approximately 12 oz.) when installing the feeder. - Fill the container with a maximum of 6 oz. of feeder fluid. - Ensure the feeder tube is inserted completely into the rubber stopper but not extending beyond it. - Keep the feeder and feeder tube clean. - Hang the feeder as straight as possible. - Place the feeder in shade or partial shade to keep the nectar cool and minimize dripping.

If installed properly, there may be initial dripping or a stream of nectar. This is normal as the air pressure inside the container pushes the nectar down the tube. Once a vacuum is formed, the dripping will stop.

How to Make Hummingbird Nectar:

Nectar Recipe: Ingredients: - 4 cups water - 1 cup sugar

Directions: 1. In a saucepan, boil water for 1 minute. 2. Remove the pan from the stove and add the sugar, stirring until it dissolves. 3. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. 4. Fill your feeder with no more than 6 oz. of nectar. If using a small vessel, fill no more than 1/2 full to alleviate leakage. 5. Refrigerate leftover nectar for up to 2 weeks. 6. Clean your feeder and change the nectar frequently, especially in hot weather.

It's easy to make your own hummingbird feeder with these red, floral tip feeder tubes. Simply use any liquid suitable bottle with an appropriate size opening. The 1" long tapered stopper measures 15/16" in diameter at the top and 5/8" in diameter at the bottom. When installed vertically, the overall height and width are approximately 2-3/4".
